Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of solving the problem that sufficient transmission throughput cannot be acquired. SOLUTION: A buffer 12 temporarily stores a transmission data unit and reception data unit. A measurement section 16 measures a transmission buffer utilization factor as a utilization factor by the transmission data unit of the buffer 12, and a reception buffer utilization factor as a utilization factor of the reception data unit of the buffer 12. An adjusting section 17 adjusts the transmission window size and the reception window size of an opposite communication apparatus within a range where a buffer size enough to store the reception data unit for the transmission window size of the opposite communication apparatus and the transmission data unit for the reception window size of the opposite communication apparatus does not exceed a predetermined buffer size of the opposite communication apparatus, based on the transmission buffer utilization factor and the reception buffer utilization factor.
