PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gas detection piece exposure system, and to provide a method for automatically and repeatedly implementing a series of works for detecting a gas, detecting the gas without the need for a large space, and for simplifying a mechanism. SOLUTION: The automatic gas detection piece exposure system includes: an accommodation box 1 for accommodating one or more closed containers 3 which accommodates gas detection pieces 2 and having openings occluded by foil materials 32a, 32b; and a drive mechanism 6 for moving the closed container 3, disposed at a predetermined location within the accommodation box 1, in the direction of a line connecting the openings. The accommodation box 1, includes: a detection reagent injecting pipe 11 disposed on one inner surface in the direction of the line connecting the openings of the closed containers 3, and introducing a detection reagent for detecting a predetermined gas component; and a hole 12 disposed on the opposite side, and causing the closed containers 3 to pass through.
