PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image such that possibility of contact between a vehicle and an obstacle can be more clearly grasped, in technology for assisting parallel parking of the vehicle to a rear side of the obstacle. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle parallel parking assistant device mounted on the vehicle 1 specifies a contact caution position near a corner 2a of the vehicle 2 present at a front side of a parallel parking space and specifies the optimum visual point 4 for photographing the specified contact caution position. When an outdoor photographing camera reaches to the specified visual point position 4, the contact caution point and its periphery are photographed by the camera, and they are recorded making it as the optimum visual point image. Further, the on-vehicle parallel parking assistant device repeatedly superimposes one's own vehicle image reflecting the present attitude and position of the vehicle 1 relative to the optimum visual point image at the cut-back stage and successively displays a synthesis image 31 of the superimposition result.
