Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active headrest capable of locking a forward-inclined headrest frame by a simple mechanism in occasion of a rear collision. SOLUTION: There are provided a teeter-totter type inclination mechanism comprising a turning shaft serving as the fulcrum point of a headrest frame, an upper pressure receiving plate arranged at the lower part of the headrest frame so as to accept a load at the back part of a sitting person in occasion of a rear collision, and a biasing spring for use in biasing the upper part of the forward tilted headrest frame to return to its original position while the upper pressure receiving plate is pushed and turned around the fulcrum point, a wire drawing mechanism having a wire one end of which is connected to a lower pressure receiving plate and drawn under depressing of the lower pressure receiving plate, and a lock member that is attached to a seat-back frame such that it can be turned, having the other end of the wire connected and it is turned through a downward drawing of the wire and enters between the seat-back frame and the headrest frame.
