Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delivery capacity control mechanism of a high pressure fuel supply pump to be improved. SOLUTION: An inlet valve opened and closed automatically by pressure in a pressurizing chamber is provided in a fuel absorption passage, this inlet valve is opened by pressing it by a plunger of an electromagnetic plunger mechanism, pulling-in operation timing of the plunger is controlled in accordance with an operation condition of the internal combustion engine, and opening time of the inlet valve in a compression stroke of the pump is controlled to change flow rate of delivery of high pressure fuel. An intake opening opened and closed by the inlet valve was formed in a section abutted on a holder in an electromagnetic driving mechanism. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
