Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium which generates less recrystallization rings during information recording and also enables a good high speed information erasure. SOLUTION: The information recording medium includes a substrate, a phase change recording layer formed on the substrate, and a reflection layer formed on the phase change recording layer, the phase change recording layer consisting of tellurium and antimony or tellurium and bismuth and having a crystallization speed of 2 to 10 nano seconds, forming a recording mark by changing the crystal condition thereof using irradiation of light pulses having 200 pico seconds or a half bandwidth of 1 nano second.
