Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a magnesium alloy member and a forming die by which formed goods are manufactured simply and at low cost without causing welding with the die even when a sheet-shaped member of a lubricant, a teflon sheet, etc. is not used and which is excellent in durability. SOLUTION: When forming the magnesium alloy member by using the die, a diamond film is coated at least in a portion of a part brought into contact with the magnesium alloy member in the die and the surface of the diamond film is ground until its maximum surface roughness becomes 0.1-1.0 μm and press working is performed so that the diamond film of the die after that grinding is directly brought into contact with the magnesium alloy member.
