Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device capable of improving convenience and reducing user stress. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device, which receives a call incoming from an external network, includes: a call incoming indication portion that shows the call coming, an illuminance measuring unit for measuring illuminance around the relevant portable electronic device; an acceleration detecting unit for detecting acceleration of the relevant portable electronic device; and a state determining unit for determining a state of the relevant portable electronic device in accordance with the acceleration detected by the acceleration detecting unit and the illuminance measured by the illuminance measuring unit. When it is determined that the acceleration detected by the acceleration detecting unit is greater than a threshold and that a change in the illuminance measured by the illuminance measuring unit is greater than a predetermined value, the state determining unit controls a call incoming instruction unit to change an output indicative of call coming.
