Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle enabling a reduction in power consumption in a bi-level mode during a heating operation. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner for a vehicle, a PTC heater 40 for heating blowing air by electrification and a condenser 22 are installed in an air conditioner case 1. A controller heats the blowing air by the condenser 22 in the bi-level mode during the heating operation, and electrifies the PTC heater 40. To execute a bi-level mode in which the heating of the blowing air by the condenser 22 and the heating of the blowing air by the PTC heater 40 are combined with each other, such an event specific to the bi-level mode that the cooling performance of the condenser 22 is deteriorated as the air quantity passing through the condenser 22 is reduced is improved.
