Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively achieve the attachment of an objective substance to be detected and enhance sensitivity. SOLUTION: A surface plasmon sensor makes an objective substance attach on a surface plasmon element equipped with a metal thin film 20 to which a plurality of periodic apertures has been formed on a dielectric substrate 10 and detects a change of transmission light 32 transmitting through the apertures 21 by irradiating the surface plasmon element with light depending on the attaching objective substance, in which through-holes 11 connecting with the apertures 21 are respectively provided at each site corresponding to the apertures 21 of the dielectric substrate 10 and a plurality of flow passages flowing the fluid 41 containing the objective substance is formed by these apertures and the through-holes 11 connecting with them.
