Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus in which image defects (unevenness) that may occur at both edges of a recording area can be reduced also for various recording media including unspecified recording media. SOLUTION: In the inkjet apparatus which uses a recording head and records an image by scanning a predetermined area on a recording medium with the recording head multiple times, the multiple times of scan including a forward scan and a backward scan, the apparatus comprising: a means that causes the recording head to record test patterns each of which is recorded through multiple times of scan of the recording head and has a different combination in a time interval between the multiple times of scan, with different recording ratios for the multiple times of scan; and a means that sets the recording ratios for the multiple times of scan of the recording head when the image is recorded, based on the test pattern.
