Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element having high light-emitting efficiency in which a material contained in an intermediate layer never emits light. SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element has: a light-emitting layer containing high molecular compound between a cathode and an anode; and an intermediate layer having ≥1×103number average molecular weight converted into polystyrene between the anode and the light-emitting layer, containing an aliphatic compound having a group expressed by formula (1): -CO-R [wherein R denotes an alkyl group, alkoxy group or hydroxy group] and contacting the light-emitting layer. As the aliphatic compound, polymethylmetacrylate is used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
