Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device which regulates the amount of light of a wavelength suppressing melatonin secretion emitted to the direction of entering human eyes from light-emitting sections to change the influence degree on suppression of melatonin secretion, and can illuminate suitably corresponding to time and life modes of users. SOLUTION: The illuminating device is configured to use first light-emitting sections 3 and second light-emitting sections 4, which have different light distribution characteristics, to control light emission intensities of the first light-emitting sections 3 and the second light-emitting sections 4 by a control section, and to change the amount of light of a wavelength suppressing melatonin secretion emitted from the first light-emitting sections 3 and the second light-emitting sections 4 to a predetermined direction. Accordingly, the amount of light is changed which is emitted to the direction of entering human eyes (predetermined direction) in the ordinary use mode by regulating the amount of light of a wavelength suppressing melatonin secretion entering human eyes, whereby the influence degree on suppression of melatonin secretion can be changed and illumination can be made suitably corresponding to time or user's life mode.
