Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booster compressor in which the reliability of a rotary part provided in a crank case can be improved. SOLUTION: This booster compressor has a cylinder 16, a reciprocable piston 39 defining a compression chamber 40 in the cylinder 16, a connecting rod 38 connected to the piston 39, a crank mechanism 37 connected to the connecting rod 38, and a crank case 15 communicated with the cylinder 16 and holding the crank mechanism 37. A primary side compressed gas from a compressed gas supplying source is taken in the compression chamber 40 from an intake port 33 by a reciprocating movement of the piston 39, compressed, and emitted from an discharge port 34 as a secondary side compressed gas of high pressure. The compressor has communication means 44 for communicating the discharge port 34 with the crank case 15, and a pressure of the secondary side compressed gas is applied to a side opposite to the compression chamber 40 of the piston 39.
