PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the miniaturization in a by-wire type brake device for a vehicle and saddle-riding type vehicle equipped therewith by unitizing a liquid path changeover means and hydraulic pressure generating means and the enhancement of layout flexibility thereof. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with: a power unit 46 for additionally generating hydraulic pressure by actuating a brake operation means, and a control unit 50R for changing hydraulic pressure paths among the brake operation means, power unit 46 and a wheel braking means. The power unit 46 and control unit 50R are respectively provided with mutually detachable coupling parts 77, 78, and through the coupling parts 77, 78, the power unit 46 and control unit 50R are integrated with each other.
