Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely and safely wind a steel tape arranged on a hoistway and to be removed by a simple configuration in a winding device for the steel tape for an elevator. SOLUTION: The winding device 10 for the steel tape for the elevator is provided with a rotating shaft 14 supported by bases 12 rotatably in only one direction via a ratchet mechanism 16; a handle part 18 connected to the rotating shaft 14 and manually rotating the rotating shaft 14; and a core 20 detachably fixed to the rotating shaft 14, used for winding up the long band-shaped steel tape and having fixing means for fixing the tip of the steel tape.
