Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shuttlecock enabling the magnitude of spin to increase. SOLUTION: The shuttlecock can rotate around the center line in a rotation direction through a skirt part 40, and includes a cap part adjoining with the skirt part 40 in the center line (A), a pair of outer surfaces provided on rear ends of the skirt part 40 and opposite the cap part 20 in the center line and having the one outer surface adjoining with each other in the peripheral direction of the skirt part 40 for generating a torque in the rotation direction by receiving aerodynamic force and the other outer surface for generating a torque in an opposite direction to the rotation direction by receiving the aerodynamic force (B), cutouts formed on the rear ends of the skirt part 40 in the center direction for increasing a ratio of an area of the one outer surface to that of the other (C), and lateral ribs 43 formed along the peripheral direction to be joined to both outer surfaces and interrupted by the cutouts (D).
