Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition for animal, which is satisfactorily foamable during use, excellent in touch on animal after use, particularly smoothness and easiness of brushing after drying, and low in skin irritation. SOLUTION: The detergent composition for animal comprises 0.1-20 mass% of a block type alkylene oxide derivative represented by the following formula (I): Y-[O(EO)a-(AO)b-(EO)c-R]k; 2-30 mass% of an anionic surfactant; and 1-30 mass% of an amphoteric surfactant, wherein Y is a residue excluding hydroxy groups of a polyhydric alcohol having 3-6 hydroxy groups; k is the number of hydroxy groups of the polyhydric alcohol; EO is an oxyethylene group and AO is a 3-6C oxyalkylene group, each of which is added in a block form; a×k, b×k and c×k represent average additive mole numbers of the oxyethylene group, the 3-6C oxyalkylene group, and the oxyethylene group, respectively, with 0≤a×k≤100, 1≤b×k≤100, 0≤c×k≤100, and (a+c)×k>1, the ratio of the oxyethylene group to the total of the oxyethylene group and the 3-6C oxyalkylene group is 10-80 mass%; and R is a 1-4C hydrocarbon group.
