PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and playback device to record information in an optical disk without re-learning during temperature drop of a laser. SOLUTION: The device includes: a first focus control means 3 controlling so as to focus on a disk recording medium, a focus control means 4 controlling so as not to focus on the disk recording medium, a first laser control means 7 performing control for recording information in the optical disk recording medium, a second laser control means 8 performing control for raising temperature of a laser 5, and a temperature sensor 9 measuring temperature of the laser 5. When temperature drop of the laser 5 is detected by an output of the temperature sensor 9, temperature of the laser 5 is raised to temperature for learning processing by switching to the second focus control means 4 and the second laser control means 8, then re-learning processing is not required.
