Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a magnetic property of a write head with ample accuracy, in a short period of time, using a simple system architecture of a magnetic shield for write head evaluation, and also to provide a manufacturing method for the shield, and a write head evaluating system. SOLUTION: The write head evaluation system is constituted of: a magnetic disk head equipped with at least a write head 1; an electric circuit 7 turning on electricity to the write head 1 to generate magnetic field; and a magnetic field sensor 3. A magnetic shield 4 for write head evaluation is arranged in a space between the write head 1 and the magnetic field sensor 3. When at least a slit-like magnetic leakage section 6 prepared in the magnetic shield 4 for write head evaluation is moved to an in-plane direction so as to pass through between the write head 1 and the magnetic sensor 3, the generated magnetic field distribution of the write head 1 is measured from signal variations detected by the magnetic field sensor 3.
