Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of continuing power generation by a fuel cell without supplying hydrogen from the outside, and to provide electronic equipment having the same. SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with the fuel cell having an electrolyte membrane, a fuel electrode formed on one surface of the electrolyte membrane, and an air electrode formed on the other surface of the electrolyte membrane, an air chamber which stores air including steam generated in the air electrode by the power generation reaction of the fuel cell, a fuel chamber which holds fuel, a hydrogen generating mechanism which generates hydrogen by making the air including steam react with a hydrogen generating material, a hydrogen separating mechanism which is interposed between the fuel chamber and the hydrogen generating mechanism and separates hydrogen from the hydrogen generating mechanism to supply it to the fuel chamber, and an introduction mechanism which introduces the air including steam from the air chamber into the hydrogen generating mechanism. An electronic equipment having the fuel cell system is also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
