Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a simple battery structure for lessening temperature differences between cells from the viewpoint of reliability improvement of the battery, since a control valve type lead-acid storage battery developed for the sake of a high output and a high capacity is likely to have heat generated during charging accumulated inside the battery, and especially, to have heat-dissipation efficiency of a cell at a center part of the battery aggravated. SOLUTION: A battery case with widths of middle cells of grooves penetrating both sides corresponding to the cells on a battery bottom face with which an electrode group as a heat generating source is in direct contact made larger than those of end cells is used to improve radiating effect of the middle cells by convection, thereby, a battery with higher cooling effects and smaller temperature differences between the cells can be obtained.
