SOLUTION: This closing resistor 18 for the high voltage circuit breaker has a large number of resistor elements 70 and a large number of cooling elements 60. The cooling elements 60 are arranged in series with one another, and are electrically connected in series with one another. The resistor elements 70, which electrically connect the electrical cooling elements with one another, are each connected between two cooling elements 60 arranged in series.
