Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle camera system which reduces time until an image of the on-vehicle camera is stably displayed after shifting a shift lever to a reverse gear without supplying power to the on-vehicle camera from a power supply circuit. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle camera system consists of an on-vehicle camera 7 for imaging a region at the rear of the vehicle 5, a power supply circuit 9 for supplying power to the on-vehicle camera 7, a switch 11 for turning on/off of power supply to the on-vehicle camera 7, a display means 27 for displaying the image captured by the on-vehicle camera 7, current position specifying means 17, 19, 21 for specifying a current position of the vehicle 5, a storage means 13 for storing one or more points registered by a user and a control means 15 for controlling the switch 11 so as to supply power to the on-vehicle camera 7 when the distance between one point or more of points and a current position 5 falls within a prescribed distance.
