Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the light use efficiency of a liquid crystal display apparatus from deterioration, which is caused by light loss arisen after the passage of the lenses to control light directionality. SOLUTION: Provided is a lighting system 50 for the liquid crystal display apparatus having a plurality of transmission parts 72 arranged two-dimensionally, the lighting system having a plurality of aspherical lenses 8, each of which is installed in response to each of the plurality of the transmission parts 72 and concentrates light for each of a plurality of the transmission parts 72; a plurality of light emission parts R1 installed in response to each focal point position of the plurality of aspherical lenses 8; and an electroluminescence layer 4 including a non-light emission region R2 disposed between the plurality of light emission parts R1. Each of the plurality of the aspherical lenses 8 respectively has an inner side lens surface including an intersection with an optical axis AX and an outer side lens surface surrounding the inner side lens surface, a curvature of the outer side lens surface being smaller than that of the inner side lens surface.
