Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable biometric authentication device, which can be improved in accuracy while ensuring good portability. SOLUTION: The device comprises a body casing 100 including a finger holding means 110 provided on an upper surface 101; a hood body 200 for covering the upper surface 101 of the body casing 100; and a mounting mechanism part 300 for holding the body casing 100 and the hood body 200 in a portable state and in a use state. The body casing 100 includes a raised part 120 provided at one longitudinal end side of the upper surface 101, the hood body 200 includes a flat surface 210 covering the upper surface 101 of the body casing 100, a first edge body 220 formed to protrude toward one end side of the flat surface 210, a second edge body 230 formed at the other end side of the flat surface 210, and a third edge body 240 formed at both ends between the first edge body 200 and the second edge body 230. The mounting mechanism part 300 includes a first mounting mechanism part 310 for holding a storage state in which the second edge body 230 is in contact with the raised part 120, and a second mounting mechanism part 350 for holding the use state in which the hood body 200 is located above the finger holding means 110 by connecting the raised part 120 to the first edge body 220.
