PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an odor neutralization, deodorization method and an air cleaner for not only removing dust, mold and bacteria, etc., in indoor air but also performing indoor odor neutralization and deodorization and further improving an indoor environment. SOLUTION: Air is sucked from a suction port 20 on the rear surface 13 of a casing 10 by a multiblade fan 40 and the air is blown from a blow-off port 30 to an upper direction inclined rearward at a prescribed angle relative to the vertical direction of a floor surface F. An ion generating element 80 for generating ions with a deodorization effect is loaded in a blow-off distribution path 60 from the multiblade fan 40 to the blow-off port 30 and the air containing the ions is blown off. The blown-off air collides with a wall surface W, is then circulated along the ceiling of a room and the other wall surfaces and is sucked from the floor surface F to the suction port 20. Thus, a substance stuck to the wall surfaces, the ceiling and the floor surface to be the origin of a smell is decomposed and odor-neutralized by the ions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
