Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member and a rolling member each of which has a low frictional coefficient in atmospheric air, vacuum, water and lubricant, and has excellent durability and resistance to a load. SOLUTION: The low friction sliding member includes a first sliding member and a second sliding member. The first sliding member has a first sliding face formed with diamond or a diamond film on the uppermost layer of a base material. The second sliding member has a second sliding face composed of iron-based alloy or an iron-based alloy layer which contains 0.15-0.55 wt.% C, 3.5-10.0 wt.% Ni, 8.0-25.0 wt.% Cr and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and which has 45-55 HRC Rockwell hardness as the surface hardness through quenching treatment and tempering treatment.
