Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyolefin comprising a slurry polymerization step and a gas phase polymerization step, which prevents mutual adhesion and lump-formation of a polyolefin powder, does not cause the clogging of a withdrawing line from a slurry polymerization tank to enable smooth operation. SOLUTION: The polymerization catalyst comprises a solid catalyst component (A) containing a transition metal, an organoaluminum compound component (B), and an electron donating compound component (C) and in the slurry polymerization, the polymerization temperature is 40-50°C and the feed amount of the organoaluminum compound component (B) is 50-100 wt.ppm based on the amount of a monomer to be supplied and the feed amount of the electron donating compound component (C) is 0.20-0.40 mol/mol based on the amount of the organoaluminum compound component (B) to be supplied, and the activity of the polymerization catalyst [the amount (kg) of a formed polyolefin/kg catalyst/hr] is 3,500-4,500 kg/kg/hr.
