Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer carrier of a small diameter equipped with a magnetic field generating means which has high magnetic force, is excellent in rigidity and little bent. SOLUTION: A magnet roller 33 composing a developing roller 15 includes a roller body 40, a long magnetic block 41, and a plate-like member 43 disposed in the roller body 40 in order to prevent bending of the roller body 40. The plate-like member 43 is composed of a magnetic metal material and extends in the direction of a center axis P of the roller body 40. The plate-like member 43 is formed so that a cross-section in the radial direction of the roller body has the shape of a rectangular plate. The long side of the cross-sectional shape is parallel to the direction of vector F3 composed of the gravity of a magnet roller 33 and the resultant force of magnetic attracting forces which are forces with which magnetic carrier in developer 35 attracts the magnet roller 33.
