Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of installing an auxiliary burner for promoting dissolution by auxiliary burning of an EBT (eccentric bottom tapping)-specific cold spot at a tap hole-side, and easily performing maintenance work of the auxiliary burner, in an electric furnace where it is difficult to dispose the auxiliary burner on the tap hole as a space on the tap hole at a side portion of the electric furnace is narrow. SOLUTION: In this auxiliary combustion device of the eccentric bottom tapping-type electric furnace, a burner mounting hole 9 capable of inserting a water-cooled burner 11 and a cooling jacket 10 of a peripheral wall, is formed on a water-cooled panel 2 forming lining of a furnace wall 1a of the electric furnace 1 for EBT-type steel making at the tap hole 4 side, and the water-cooled burner 11 is mounted in the burner mounting hole 9, thus the cold spot 8 near the tap hole can be dissolved by auxiliary burning without interfering with electric furnace equipment, and further the maintenance of the tap hole 4 and the water-cooled burner 11 can be easily performed.
