Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact which is suitable for growing plants and appropriate as a greening material and a method for producing the sintered compact. SOLUTION: As a material mixing process, expanded glass powder and galeonite are mixed in a weight ratio of 2:1, and about 15-20% of water is mixed further (S10). Next, as a material molding process, the mixture is cut in an appropriate length by a disk rotor type granulating machine by an extrusion diameter of 8 mm (S12). Next, as a drying process, natural drying is carried out for 24 h (S14). After that, as a baking process, baking is carried out at a baking temperature of 300-1,000°C for an appropriate length of time (S16).
