Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and quickly detecting a target DNA at a low cost. SOLUTION: The method for detecting a target DNA includes a first reaction including a step of hybridizing a chimera probe 30 to the target DNA 10, to form a hybrid chain, and a step of cleaving the hybrid chain with a ribonuclease, to isolate a fragment of the chimera probe, and a second reaction including a step of hybridizing the fragment to a single stranded circular DNA, a step of extending the fragment with a strand displaced DNA polymerase and a step of detecting the extended fragment.
