Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which shortens the time for channel switching and achieves comfortable channel selection by determining scrambled broadcast so as not to select its channel using a channel-up/down key. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver 10 includes: a discrimination unit 24a for discriminating whether broadcast on a predetermined channel is scrambled based on information about scrambling contained in a received SDT (Service Description Table); and a setting control unit 24b which controls to perform setting to select the channel using a channel-up/down key 11a for a description about the channel in a channel map when it is discriminated that the broadcast is not scrambled, and controls to perform setting not to select the channel using the channel-up/down key 11a for the description about the channel in the channel map when it is discriminated that the broadcast is scrambled.
