PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration and air-conditioning unit and a control method of the refrigeration and air-conditioning unit, having a plurality of evaporators used for cooling of a showcase and preventing a lack of cooling capability caused by reduction in operation efficiency and rise in low pressure due to pulling-in of low pressure accompanying operation stop of the showcase. SOLUTION: The refrigeration and air-conditioning unit is provided with an evaporator operation determination means for determining operation stop with respect to each evaporator in accordance with temperature of a cooling target and target cooling temperature and with a flow resistance control means for controlling a flow rate of a refrigerant made flow to each evaporator by changing flow resistance of each decompression means. The flow resistance control means changes in stages flow resistance of the decompression means from flow resistance before stop to predetermined flow resistance at stop, in the process of switching from the operation to the stop of the evaporator.
