PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To represent relations of an asymmetry value and a β value to main power Pw by appropriate straight lines when recording is performed to an optical disk using an organic dye. SOLUTION: An optical disk recording method includes a step for judging whether the optical disk to be a writing object is formed by using the organic dye and a control step for controlling a laser so that space forming power Ps required for space formation is made lower than bias power Pbw when the optical disk is judged as the optical disk formed by using the organic dye. When the relation of Ps<Pbw is satisfied, the relations of the asymmetry value and the β value to the main power Pw are represented by the preferable straight lines. Thereby, control of the main power Pw can be performed using the asymmetry value and the β value as evaluation indices and coping with disturbance and the like can be easily performed.
