Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth retaining method which uses H-shaped steel, horizontal sheathing and a flat plate-like steel plate, and which enables construction to be performed by using the short H-shaped steel. SOLUTION: This H-shaped steel earth-retaining method using the H-shaped steel and the horizontal sheathing and utilizing columnar improvement is characterized as follows: the columnar improvement is precedently applied up to the depth of a supporting board in a position to drive the H-shaped steel; an upper section of a columnar improvement section is anchored in a lower position of a pressure-resistant board of a basement; the H-shaped steel is inserted into the columnar improvement section; an earth retaining wall is made of the horizontal sheathing and the flat plate-like steel plate; the pressure-resistant board is constituted in the upper section of the columnar improvement section; and a load of a building is borne by the columnar improvement section.
