Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-adhesive composition to be used in liquid crystal cells constituting a liquid crystal display device, intended for forming a self-adhesive layer capable of preventing such a liquid crystal display device from color unevennesses and/or white-spot phenomena stemming from the stretch/contraction of the optically functional film used in the device. SOLUTION: The self-adhesive composition for optical use essentially comprises a (meth)acrylic ester copolymer (A) 1,000,000-2,000,000 in weight-average molecular weight and a plasticizer (B) containing two aromatic groups, wherein the content of the plasticizer B stands at 3-50 mass% of that of the copolymer A. In this composition, the copolymer A contains 10-40 mass% of constituents as a monomer mixture of monomers each represented by general formula (I) (wherein, n is 1 or ≥2), wherein the monomers with n being ≥2 account for 1-5 mass% of the whole amount of the mixture.
