Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner which has excellent capability of removing dust with low rotating sound on a flat floor surface while capable of powerfully sucking dust on a carpet. SOLUTION: A bearing part 31 for supporting a shaft 29 of a rotary brush (an agitator) is formed, and a roller 30 rolling on a surface to be cleaned is held under the shaft 29 of the rotary brush. The shaft 29 of the rotary brush is held in the bearing part 31 in such a way as movable in the vertical direction as linked with the vertical movement of the roller 30. When the rotary brush is moved upward, the rotary brush is brought into contact with a top surface 32 thereabove. With this structure, the rotary brush 3 is moved upward to be brought into contact with the top surface 32 so that the rotational frequency of the rotary brush 3 is controlled, and the rotation sound can be reduced on the wood floor surface. The rotary brush exhibits excellent rotation force without being moved upward on the carpet. In this way, the convenient suction nozzle for the vacuum cleaner, capable of achieving high performance on any floor surfaces, can be provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
