Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce equipment cost and promote practical use in a small-scale plant. SOLUTION: While wastewater D is introduced into a tank 2 accommodating aerobic granules G, it is aerated. The wastewater D is left to stand still after aeration so that the aerobic granules G precipitate, and after being left to stand still, treated water W is discharged. Such a cycle is repeated. The introduction of the wastewater D into the tank 2 even during aeration time increases continuous treatment time and decreases time when the continuous treatment cannot be carried out, by the aeration time in comparison with the conventional method, which enables nearly continuous treatment as a whole, thereby greatly miniaturizing a storage tank for storing the wastewater D temporarily at the upstream side of the tank 2.
