Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil in which a ventilation passage for effectively preventing the permeation of water by a simple structure can be formed. SOLUTION: An ignition coil 1 comprises a coil portion 3 in which a first coil 21, a second coil 22, a center core 23, and a peripheral core 24 are arranged and a connector case 4. In the ignition coil 1, the coil portion 3 is inserted into a plug hole 81 and the connector case 4 is arranged outside the plug hole 81. In the ignition coil 1, the axial direction upper end of the peripheral core 24 of the coil portion 3 is inserted and incorporated into an insertion hole 40 at the connector case 4. In the ignition coil 1, a ventilation passage 11 for performing ventilation in the plug hole 81 is formed with a ventilation clearance 47 formed between the inner wall surface of the insertion hole 40 and the outer wall surface of the peripheral core 24 and a ventilation hole 48 formed in a position away from seal rubber 5 in the connector case 4 so that the hole communicates with the ventilation clearance 47.
