Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent curling of the corners of a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: At both widthwise ends of the cleaning blade 38 corresponding to the image non-formation area of an intermediate transfer belt 16, and at each corner where the leading edge face 38A, front face 38B, and side face 38C of the cleaning blade 38 meet, a curved face 40 connecting the leading edge face 38A, front face 38B, and side face 38C are formed. Since the curved face 40 has no corners, the corners 46 and 48 of the flat face 44 are separated by the curved face 40. Accordingly, frictional forces received by the corners 46 and 48 are not transmitted to the curved face 40. This prevents the cleaning blade 38 from curling at both its widthwise ends.
