Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved cutting tool insert for milling cutter processing. SOLUTION: This coated cutting tool insert is particularly useful for dry and wet machining, desirably, the milling cutter processing of a non-alloy, a low alloy, high alloy steel and cast iron having or without having an unprocessed surface area. The insert is characterized by a coating film including: the TiCxNyOzinnermost layer having WC-TaC-NbC-Co cemented carbide and a columnar particle having a W alloy Co binder phase; and the smooth α-Al2O3uppermost layer on at least a rake surface.
