Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum circuit breaker having high cooling performance and capable of further downsizing, and a radiator for a vacuum circuit breaker used for the vacuum circuit breaker. SOLUTION: The vacuum circuit breaker is provided with a radiator 50 containing a pair of radiating members 51 fitted in opposition with a shaft end 125a of a movable current-carrying shaft 125 outside of a vacuum valve 12 in between. The pair of radiation members 51 include base parts 52 for forming heat transmission routes from the shaft end of the movable current-carrying shaft 125, and radiation fins 53 arrayed in protrusion from either end part of the base parts 52. Each base part 52 has formed an insertion-coupling recess to be partially insertion-coupled to the shaft end part of the movable current-carrying shaft 125, and a relief recess 52B adjoining to the insertion-coupling recess 52A with steps and preventing interference with an insulating rod 19.
