Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for narrowing a sample group having close correlation by removing a stray sample in order to improve a two-group determination system of a biological phenomenon. SOLUTION: This determination method of a stray sample when discriminating a specific phenomenon based on a manifestation level of genes in a sample originated in an organism includes processes, for (1) measuring the manifestation level of a plurality of genes in a plurality of samples; (2) selecting one optional sample from the plurality of samples, determining a correlation coefficient value to each of all the other samples other than one optional sample by using a manifestation profile of each gene as a variable, and equalizing each determined correlation coefficient value; (3) executing sample selection in process (2), determination of the correlation coefficient value, and equalization of each correlation coefficient value relative to all the residual samples, and standardizing an average correlation coefficient value determined relative to all the samples; and (4) selecting a stray sample by comparing the average correlation coefficient value standardized relative to all the samples acquired in process (3) based on Akaike's Information Criteria.
