PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact generator adopting soundproofing panels having high transmission loss and an excellent soundproof function and the soundproofing panels. SOLUTION: The compact generator to which the soundproofing panels 50 are adopted includes an engine for driving a generator and a hood including the plurality of soundproofing panels 50 for storing the engine. The soundproofing panel 50 is formed by laminating a first sound-absorbing layer 42 of glass wool, a sound insulating layer 43 of fiber-reinforcing cement board and a second sound-absorbing layer 44 of glass wool in this order and is installed for an inner surface of an outer plate 120 of the hood with a surface of the first sound-absorbing layer 42 confronting to the engine side. Thus, it is advantageous that mechanical noise such as an engine noise can be restricted from being transmitted to outside and noise of the compact generator can be reduced.
