Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical pickup device, which has an aberration correcting means that performs highly accurate and high-speed aberration correction and suitably records and/or reproduces information and to provide the optical pickup device. SOLUTION: When Δx≠ΔxF or Δy≠ΔyF is satisfied, fluctuation (a shift in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis direction) of a lens L3 of a collimator optical system COL is determined by driving in the optical axis direction. Accordingly, a guide shaft GS and a driving shaft DS are displaced to a first reference surface P1 or a second reference surface P2 by a quantity corresponding to (Δx-ΔxF) or (Δy-ΔyF). Measurement is performed again and when Δx≠ΔxF or Δy≠ΔyF is satisfied, readjustment is performed in the same way. Readjustment is repeated and when Δx=ΔxF and Δy=ΔyF are satisfied, a step for fixing the guide shaft and the driving shaft may be added. Thereby, fluctuation of the optical axis is eliminated regardless of the optical axis direction position of the lens L3 and a desired optical characteristic can be obtained.
