Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor compatibly realizing reduction of size and thickness and elongation of acoustic life of a bearing. SOLUTION: The electric motor has a load side bearing part 8 composed of an oil-impregnated sintered alloy bearing 10 in the shape of a short cylinder to support the load side of a rotary shaft 5, a sintered alloy oil storage cylinder 11 in cylindrical shape in which the bearing 10 is fitted and retained, a bearing periphery member 1c of a housing 1 to hold the peripheral part of the oil storage cylinder 11, a bearing end member 1d of the housing 1 to cover the load side end faces of the oil-impregnated bearing 10 and the oil storage cylinder 11, and a bearing end gap 13a formed as an oil sump positioned between the load side end faces of the oil-impregnated bearing 10 and oil storage cylinder 11 and the bearing end member 1d of the housing 1.
