Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treatment of volatile organic compounds which prevents a deterioration in its treating capacity even after repeated operations. SOLUTION: Two adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b are supplied, in parallel, with a gas to be treated containing volatile organic compounds, and the volatile organic compounds in the gas are adsorbed and decomposed by discharge. The apparatus comprises a high-frequency alternating current power source 5 causing the adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b to discharge, an oxygen adding device 4 supplying oxygen to the adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b, a wet gas adding device 7 supplying a wet gas to the adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b and a blower 2. In the adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b, after a regenerating operation for discharge, water for the wet gas adding device 7 is drawn in using an ejector 10 arranged in the course of introducing pressurized air from a compressed air generator 9 into the adsorption discharging sections 1a and 1b, and decomposition by-products remaining in an adsorbent after the discharge-regenerating operation are desorbed for the regeneration of the adsorbent.
