Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for blocking unauthorized communication accesses on a network without changing an existing network configuration as long as possible. SOLUTION: The technique interposes an authentication socket device between a terminal device and a network so that only an authorized user to whom an authorized terminal device is connected can access the network. The socket device authenticates the terminal device by using both identification information of the terminal device and of the user to control network access of the terminal device. It is preferable for the identification information of the user to be stored in a small-sized device with a built-in communication device, such as a USB token or an RFID tag, easily portable by the user, and the identification information is supplied from a portable device to the socket device by means of an appropriate communication means.
